12th ANNUAL EDUCATION LAW CONFERENCE
Portland, Maine July 25-27, 2005
For 11 years, the Education Law Conference has presented an important and cogent program on education law and policy for a unique audience of attorneys, educators, policy makers, parents and child advocates. This year promises to be the best yet. Conference topics will include No Child Left Behind, the new IDEA, testing, bullying, school safety, charters and school choice, the Supreme Court on religion, and other up-to-the minute issues of concern. ELC SUES NJDOE ALLEGING FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ABBOTT
The Education Law Center has sued the NJ Department of Education over its failure to comply with its own regulations requiring the agency to have a plan for managing the Abbott programs and reforms. The suit, filed in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, Mercer County, seeks an order requiring NJDOE to have the management plan ready before September, and to obtain input from parents, administrators and other stakeholders before finalizing the plan.
